Parents and close friend of Deniece challenged Vhong

Twenty-two year old stylist model Deniece Cornejo choose not to talk about the mauling incident which she was involved in with TV host/comedian Vhong Navarro and businessman Cedric Lee. But after weeks of facing the public by herself, Deniece’s parents and close friend finally came out to her defense.

In an interview with GMA news via phone patch, which was also reported on Startalk last Sunday, February 9, Dennis Cornejo [Deniece’s father] expressed how deeply saddened he was about the incident his daughter got involved in and challenged Vhong Navarro to be man enough.

“Masyado akong nalungkot sa pangyayari. [Gusto kong] lumabas ang katotohanan. Tulad ng sinabi ng anak ko sa Startalk, magpakalalaki siya. Sana siya ay maparusahan sa ginawa niyang, yan,” he said.

Startalk was also able to interview Ana Miles Cornejo [Deniece’s mother]. She said she wants justice for Deniece and asked Navarro to stop spreading wrong accusations against her daughter.

“Dapat bago kayo lumabas sa media, dapat i-filter niyo ‘yung mga sinasabi niyo, kasi ‘yung mga sinasabi niyo, talagang mali,” she said.

A close friend and neighbor of Deniece, 24-year old Natalia Alvarez, also shared what she knows in support to what the model is going through in an interview with entertainment site Philippine Entertainment Portal (Pep.ph).

Alvarez said she was shocked when she heard of the mauling incident and Vhong’s allegations that he was set up by Deniece and Cedric Lee’s group.

“I immediately called her to ask her kung totoo, kasi imposibleng magawa niya ‘yun, eh. Even my mom, my sister, kilala nila si Deniece na hindi siya ganung babae. In fact, si Deniece, takot siya ma-involve sa away,” she said.

Even the story of Vhong regarding his first visit at Deniece’s condo last January 17 where he said Deniece asked him to do an oral sex with her.

“I know her. Hindi niya magagawa ‘yung ganung bagay. Kilala ko si Deniece, eh. Parang ang hirap paniwalaan ‘yung sinasabi ni Vhong na napapakita ng motibo si Deniece,” she insisted.

Natalia told PEP that Deniece is deeply affected by all the negative impressions she’s getting from the public, specially on social media.
